I didn't know how to refinish the "engine turned look" finish in the center so I used Chrysler Dark Argent Silver trim paint from OER. WebFeb 14, 2009 · The aluminum trim is anodized from the factory, and that anodized layer must be removed before you can polish the bare aluminum. Otherwise you have to try to buff it off, which is very difficult. Anodize remover is available from resto shops, like Eastwood. I think its phosphoric acid diluted, I can't recall correctly.

You have to keep a goggled eye on it and rinse it off when it is done as it will start to eat plain aluminum too if left too long.
