But once hook is set that button is now only for raising the rod tip. When not applied the rod remains at neutral position. When applied the tip will raise. Now, when the rod tip is raised it does apply further resistance/pull on the fish and serve to keep tension on the line. So that is good.

WebI asked this question because, I just got a 30 minute of a fish and couldn't even catch it, 30 minute of the fish just pulling my line back and forth from 60 meters to 30 meters back and forth for 30 minutes, the line, rods, and the reels is stable VS the fish, but the fish just keep pulling the line really hard.
